Holding hands

Coleman is learning how to hold hands and shake hands, so he's practicing with Eliza. I also showed him how she'll grasp his finger, and he really liked that too. He loves to bring her her pacis too.

Coleman has had two successful visits to the potty in the last 3 days! I'm so proud of him. I'm hoping to move him to his toddler bed in the next month or two.

Chasing Sadie

Coleman enjoys chasing Sadie around the house with his lawnmower. Sounds like a horror film for dogs. This is her exercise in lieu of her walks lately. She's a good sport, and I don't let him chase her for too long. I love how he pauses in his chasing to pat-pat Eliza. Coleman has been hugging a little too aggressively at school, but putting his head and whole weight on the other kids. I'm not sure if he understands he's being too rough, or if he is just wanting to hug the other kids. He does this too with Eliza.

Today was my first hard day. Eliza did not want to sleep much, and while she was awake, she wanted me to hold her the whole time. I wish I had 8 arms!

Grandma Visits

We had a wonderful week with my Mom in town. Coleman took right to her. I think he remembers her from her last visit in October. Mom was able to bond with both of her grandbabies this past week, and I got to rest and eat well. :)

Coleman loves the little monkey stuffed animals Mom brought, and decided to make them walk. Anytime he sees stripes he'll call them "choo-choo tracks". He is having a hard time adjusting to Eliza and sharing me. He tells me "Mama and Coleman sit down and talk" if he hasn't seen me for most of the day. It is so cute! His favorite thing about Eliza is her eyes. He'll say over and over again "See her eyes" as he gets dangerously close to her fragile little head.

Day Out With Thomas

Yesterday Jared and I took Coleman and Eliza to see Thomas in Calera. There is also a train museum there with old engines and coaches you can climb into. Coleman was in heaven. I don't think he knew what to do when he saw Thomas. Then we got on the train for a ride and he was so serious the whole time! It was so cute. Eliza did great for such a big outing. She slept in her sling most of the time. It was such a fun family day.
